Spooky Swifty Collection: Update

Image
I failed to get this on Etsy yesterday for...reasons. But it's there now! You can get it here . I'm feeling deeply fatigued so I shall not wax poetic about it too much. I do like embroidering trees, I think. I did this cypress with Spanish moss because I think they look spooky. A good tree to be D Y I N G-ing in. I want to do a willow and I want to do some wisteria murdering an innocent tree as wisteria is wont to do. And...I can put T Swift lyrics on both and one day a T Swift fan will buy these things and if not they will languish away in my shop and be found when my home is cleaned out after I myself die.  I will probably die after being completely overwhelmed by my massive disappointment in every single person I have ever known in my life, but that is neither here nor there.  Here are some close-ups.

WIP Friday?!?! More SPOOKY SWIFTY COLLECTION.

Image
I might have some more free patterns from Pillars of Eternity next week, so keep an eye out if that's your thing. This week, I've just got another Spooky Swifty item, which isn't finished. I thought this one wouldn't take as long as the Conjuring one I made last week, but...well...I decided to do a cypress tree with Spanish moss (it turns out that I really like embroidering trees), and I decided to do the Spanish moss in the most incredibly tedious way possible AKA Palestrina stitch (which I don't think I was doing right for some lol). Anyway, I really like it and I'll be finishing it up today, so it will be available in the shop tomorrow hopefully. Until then, check out these WIP pictures!  This is shortly after I made the decision about the moss. Now here's some more and also tree trunk and you can see which lyrics we have happening on this one. I don't even really like this song, but well...again...here we are. Even more moss and about 6 hours or s...

The Spooky Swifty Collection?

Image
Things that I like include (but are not limited to): professional wrestling, food, horror movies, and Taylor Swift.  Some holiday seasons ago I made some really fun little Mari Lywd/Taylor Swift embroidery hoop ornaments that DID NOT pop off as I anticipated, and I don't know why. I thought it was very clever. I still think it is very clever. I thought everyone found the Mari Lywd charming? Horse skulls always look so happy! "tis the damn season" is also such a delightful little song, so I don't know what the hang up was except that other Swifties are not fun? I have one left and you can get it here . I'm going to make more at some point so they can languish away in my Etsy shop with everything else as America collapses. Instead of assuming that no one in the world wants Taylor Swift mashed up with spooky stuff (as I should probably assume at this point and I should probably learn from my massive failure business endeavors too, but here we are), I am simply going...

Awesome Etsy Shop Roundup Time! 3 Awesome Etsy Shops To Buy Things From Right Now!

Image
UPDATE 2/11/23: All of the below shops are now defunct. Adults Are Kids Too may one day rebrand and reopen. I want to start doing monthly posts like these again. And if you have an Etsy or shopify or you're a streamer, I don't care, just contact me on Facebook and I'll do a little feature! It may not help a ton, but it IS definitely good for your page to have other pages linking to it on the internet! Everything little bit helps, for real, and I am glad to help out other crafters and creators.  I usually do this around Christmas time, but these shops all have awesome year-round items (unlike me, although I am leaning more toward plushies and patterns lately, which are totally rad all the time). I've also been painfully bad at blogging the last several months, and this gives me a nice reason to make a post, right? lulz ;-) So here goes...check out these freakin' cool Etsy sellers and buy stuff from them because they're cool people selling cool stuff. Get some...

Venture Bros - The Monarch Symbol - FREE Colorwork Chart

Image
UPDATE 2/7/23: Duplicate stitch! Yes!   This week I was asked to make a hat with The Monarch symbol it. "Ok," I said. And I did. It was excellent for breaking up the monotony of making bigfoot hat after bigfoot hat, that's for sure. And here's the chart! Feel free to use it for knitting, crochet, needlepoint, or whatever fibercraft floats your boat. If you do use it, please link back to this post to share it with the rest of the Internet! For more, give my Facebook page a like and also swing by my Etsy shop . For the hat, I actually duplicate stitched the pattern onto a plain black knit hat I made. I love any excuse to duplicate stitch and this was a perfect opportunity to do so. Duplicate stitch is my current favorite thing. There are tons of tutorials online. Here 's a good one. Happy crafting and holidays and holiday crafting! XOXOX

Cool Crafters From The Internet

Image
UPDATE 2/6/23: If you have an Etsy shop or whatever and you'd like me to feature you in an article like this, please reach out to me on Facebook ! I'm hoping to make posts like this at least a once a month thing. I will in theory have some sort of theme each month, but who knows. I'm glad to help out. I can't guarantee it will help, but I will make the effort to get you some views and likes at least! People make some cool things and once in a while I come across especially cool things and some totally cool people on the Great Interwebs. It's been a while since I rounded up a list of rad crafters and this week seems like a good week to do it. Since I've finished up my mood blanket there will be no more Mood Blanket Mondays and I need to fill that void with something. This will have to do for this week. If you think I make cool stuff then you should definitely check out these people because I'm pretty sure they're all cooler than me. Give them a ...
