FREE and Easy Argyle Knitting Patterns!

Image
I think argyle is super classy. Like, top-tier cool dude sophistication. Wow. I'm so serious right now. This is absolutely NOT sarcasm, I swear! It's also really easy. You can do very a 2-color argyle with fair isle or 3-color argyle with minimal effort duplicate stitch. I made some argyle things back in the early days of my knitting and it's a good way to get a feel for carrying your floats and tension with colorwork, so I've whipped up some charts and some argyle tips and you can use these for whatever! A row of argyle on a hat is nice. Sandwich another design between argyle. Do a ton of argyle - stack it! Put it on a sweater. Live your life. It's versatile, especially since I'm giving you some variations to work with for your projects. Heck, crochet it! I've used this small 2-color argyle on a lot of hats in the past. Just one row of it after the brim makes a nice border underneath, say, llamas or something. Small caveat: doing multiple rows of it can lo

Crochet Hook and Knitting Needle Size Conversion

Image
I've meant to do this for a long time. Years. No, seriously. Probably the number three question I get messaged about on Etsy is about hook or needle size conversion (again, I am serious). I know there are a bazillion other conversion charts available and I have some go-to's bookmarked that I link people to, but rather than linking to someone else's chart, I've made my own to link to! Look at me go! I hope I didn't make any typos. lololol I also combined a couple charts for crochet hooks, trying to get everything. Metric is the most accurate measurement for crochet hooks because the letter/number system can get wonky and then you've got US vs UK/Canadian, and to make matters weirder, the lace hooks come into play and then your brain explodes. Anyway, here is the regular ol' yarn crochet hook conversion chart. Now, ignore the below conversion chart unless you actually need it and are using steel/lace hooks. I have never made lace in my life, but I do have a

Hogwarts Legacy House Scarf Emblem Charts Available Now!

Image
All proceeds to me, no proceeds to JKR. Get the charts here !  All four houses! It's a pay-what-you-want dealio! I did simplify them a bit from the game to make them work. All four houses are included - Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. This is a PDF including 8 charts (4 right-side-up and 4 upside-down, so you can do both ends of a scarf). Each chart is 64 squares across. The PDF does NOT include a full scarf pattern and this is MOST DEFINITELY NOT A FINISHED SCARF NOR SCARVES. You will not receive anything in the mail from me if you buy this. As of right now, these charts are untested by me, but they should work for a scarf made in the round (CO 128 and being mindful of your floats – you can work the chart on both side if you want), a double-knit scarf (you might want to consider a lighter yarn weight depending on how wide you want your scarf), or duplicate stitch on top of a solid background of appropriate size. These charts will work for c2c crochet as well if y

February Pattern Roundup - Frogs!

Image
As vaguely promised, I'm going to start doing a monthly blog post with cool makers or patterns that I've found! Each month will have some sort of loose theme and I'll feature whatever I have...you know...rounded up (yee haw), and all pertinent links! This is going to be a toward-the-end-of-the-month thing, I think. I'm trying to space out my monthly activities and figure out when to best do what. I get a kick out of supporting other artists. All sorts of artists. I don't care. If you want to be featured, just shoot me a DM on Facebook . It may not help much, or at all, but it's good to have your links floating around for the internet robots and it's good for my blog to have lots of words posted regularly...for the robots. My blog doesn't get the traffic that it used to back in the day, but maybe that will change?!?! Anyway, enough of that, let me get down to business. This month got a little crazy, so this isn't as extensive as I would normally want.

I'm doing it! My first knitting stream will not be postponed any longer! I'm going to knit an entire bigfoot hat. I'm not sure how long the stream will end up running. It depends on how distracted I get and if I screw up or not, which is why I'm starting early, at 11am EST. Get the FREE pattern here . Get the $1+ pay-what-you-want PDF version here . And of course, you should probably follow me on Twitch. For the most part, I stream dating sims and do bad voice acting, but I want to start doing a weekly crafting stream on Mondays (day may change, I don't know). If it pops off then I want to start doing more crafting and less pretend dating. I'd really like to get to a point where I can do giveaways on stream! Don't forget to also check out my current Etsy inventory, where you can also find when my next shop update is as well as if I'm accepting commissions. I'm pretty good at keeping that up-to-date.

2015 Sailor Saturn Crochet Cosplay Link Collection

Image
Every once in a while I still get questions about this cosplay from years ago. I blogged about it pretty regularly (because back in the day, I was good at blog updates) and I always meant to gather all of the posts together to make it easier to read about it in chronological order for the folks interested in the process. But then I kept forgetting. Of course. I'm someone who likes to read about other peoples' processes and it motivates me to do stuff and gets my creative juicy juice flowing... Well, here it is. I've finally done it! Crochet Sailor Saturn! Every post (I hope), in order! If I find I missed any then I'll add them. They're filled with WIP pictures and are pretty detailed. I fondly referred to this build as "Sweater Saturn." It was hundreds of hours and it was the hottest, heaviest, least breathable, most miserable costume I have ever made and I have zero regrets. I entered the costume contest at the aquarium and did not even place and then I w

It's WIP Wednesday Again!

Today is also the first day of a new month, so there are new goodies over on Ko-Fi ! Glaceon, Blastoise, and Raticate charts! Follow that previous link where I ramble about it a little more.  I also did a small shop update on Etsy featuring some of the WIP bags I posted about last week! There will be another mid-month Ko-Fi update this month for members, and the next shop update will not be until March 1st. Also, commissions are closed until March so I can work on some TUTORIAL VIDEOS and do some housekeeping of this here blog.  Anywho, my daisy bag did not get finished in time for the shop update so it's still a work in progress! I've made all of the squares for one side, but I haven't joined them. I'm going to use a dark brown wooden handle for this bag, and I'm not totally sure how I want to join them nor am I sure about the border, so I'm going to finish making the squares first. You can get the daisy square pattern here . It's very easy! And free! I&#
