FREE and Super-Easy Wavy Blanket Crochet Pattern

Image
UPDATE 2/11/23: Pattern still valid and good, just corrected some minor formatting. I must comment this here to know that I already looked at this pattern during the Great Blog Update of 2023. Need a fast, easy, and fun blanket pattern? This wavy blanket looks pretty snazzy with two contrasting colors, but it would also look great with three or more colors. Heck, do a gradient of colors. It's easy to customize a bit too by adding in treble crochets to make your waves taller if you want. There's a pattern on Moogly with a similar motif in smaller squares. The blanket I made is baby blanket size and square, but you can make it whatever size you like. Seriously. Do what you want. Don't let a pattern rule your life. ;) Anywho, let's get to blanket-making business! I worked in BLO (back loop only)! Materials and Stuff yarn in at least two colors (make sure each of your yarns is the same weight is my only caveat) - I used sport weight for this particular blanket a...

Mood Blanket Challenge 2015: It Is Finished

Image
UPDATE 2/6/23: Wow I finished this early. I did not follow the rules at all. At least I finished. I don't think the person running the challenge even finished.   Or I'm finished at least. With a whopping 198 squares of pure agony. That's 11 rows of 18 squares each. I was supposed to make it to the end of the year for a total of 360 squares (plus some rest days in there). But I don't need a damn queen-sized blanket and I've developed a boiling hatred for solid grannies. I vow on this day to never make another blanket with solid granny squares. Never. Never again, my friends. In fact, I don't think I'll ever make another solid granny square again. The tedium is crippling. If I had been actually making squares based on my mood they all would have been either blood red or black the last few months to represent the immense rage I felt whenever I had to make them. Shout out to Siouxsie Stitches , who initiated this terrible event here . Thanks, I've got ...

Mood Blanket Challenge 2015: Day 166

Image
UPDATE 2/6/23: I absolutely won this challenge because I outlasted the person hosting the stupid thing.  I intended to make only the required seven squares this past week, but my ability to count fooled me again and I made eight. This means I have a total of 177 squares or something. I could count them, but counting isn't in my skillset, apparently. Also, it appears that the creator of this challenge, Siouxsie Stitches , has given up. Or at least hasn't been updating her blog with her mood blanket progress. Does this mean I win? Is this challenge a last one standing sort of thing? trolololol I'm also fairly certain that my personal Hell will be making plain granny squares for all eternity and joining them to a blanket that never gets any larger.

Mood Blanket Challenge 2015: Day 159 And My Mood Is Hate

Image
UPDATE 2/6/23: This is also a good post about my disdain for this project. Also cat pics are nice. Visiting my Etsy shop is nice too. I guess hate isn't a mood, is it? I only made the required seven squares this week and I made them all yesterday because following rules is hard. I couldn't bring myself to go on after seven because there were 1 million things I would have rather been doing than making granny squares. I intended to make an entire row, you see, further propelling myself many squares ahead and closer to completion. Completing a row and attaching it is the only way I derive any joy from this joy-sucking project. Remind me not to engage in any sort of mundane crochet blanket challenge ever again. Just let me make a yearly scrapghan in peace! Yes, I could just stop following the rules entirely. I could cease to do these drab Mood Blanket Monday posts, but I will not! I will not do it because I need to update this blog at least once a week and this God forsaken b...

Mood Blanket Challenge 2015: Day 138 or Thereabouts

Image
UPDATE 2/6/23: WHERE IS THE WOOL SQUARE?! I know it exists and I can find it on the blanket in the current time. Today. On this day, on the actual blanket. Why can I not find it in all of these weekly blanket update posts?! This is a SAGA. Visit my Etsy while I scour these posts. Hark! It's Monday. The day when I hold myself accountable to this stupid blanket. Here are my squares. I'll finish this row this week and attach it. I'm almost out of scrap yarn, but I just bought a bunch of new yarn for a few new projects. This means there will be some exciting, new, never-before-seen colors in this blanket. Wow. Getting crazy. Living on the edge. I'll make up for this extra boring post with some other posts this week. I did some work on my BL:TPS Nisha cosplay, I'll be back to working on Crochet Sailor Saturn AND I made a snarky tutorial that I'm vaguely excited about. Vaguely excited is a mood, right? Apparently "vaguely excited" is represented by some ...
