DRAMA LLAMA!!11!11 hats.

Image
UPDATE 1/23/23: Hot damn! I low-balled the ever-loving shit out of my work back when I first started! $20 for a handmade hat is BaNaNaS! BANANAS! B A N A N A S!   Do you only know how to spell "bananas" because of "Holler Back Girl?" Me too, my dudes. Me too.    But I digress...lord have mercy! These prices SHAME me. I'm not deleting this post though because I believe in transparency or something and like...integrity. Like a ye olde fashioned journalist. Chronicling my own life and progress as a fiber artist or some shit like that.   These prices are a joke and if you think they're not then you can eat a dick smoothie, bruh. If you are also pricing your work this low, FUCKING STOP. QUIT IT. DO NOT. You're not helping anyone and you're railing yourself (not in a good way).   If you want to pay (still pretty cheap) but less insanely STUPID prices for handmade items, please, see yourself to my Etsy shop . Get my patterns from Ravelry or from Ko-Fi ! ...

Custom Order: Ka and the White Dark Tower Beanie

Image
UPDATE 1/23/23: I'm literally adding updates to every single one of my old posts. I've improved a lot since I made this hat. If I made this had again today, you bet your ass I'd use duplicate stitch. I also made a smaller version of the Ka symbol, which would look better. I need to find it and share it so I'll probably be updating this post yet again. I don't get a lot of international orders anymore. I think because shipping is absolutely batshit right now. Words are important for the search robots! Words words words! If you've stumbled on this post, definitely pop over to my Etsy and take a look around. If you're looking for patterns, buy those from Ravelry , and if you want to do me a real solid then go over to my Ko-Fi page and become a monthly member!  FREE Ka Symbol colorwork chart  FREE Unfound Hieroglyph chart ~~~~  I got this knit beanie in the mail yesterday for a fellow Dark Tower fan all the way in Australia! It features the Ka sigil on one si...

Unfound Knit Skullcap Beanie

UPDATE 1/23/23: This hat of course has sold by now. These blog posts about my Dark Tower goodies are some of my least popular and yet my actual Dark Tower items always sold very quickly. My tumblr posts also popped off. How curious. I am considering at least making a Unfound beanie or two, and also getting the Unfound symbols tattooed on myself, which I think I mentioned at some point in some post or another.  Anyway... As of today there are no Tower goodies in my shop, but you can definitely pop over to my Ko-Fi Page and become a member. I really want to get more interaction from my members and maybe some collabs, idk. Come on, my dudes! ~~~~ Finished! It is in the Etsy shop here . I'm very pleased with the revamped pattern that I tweaked for knitting instead of crochet. It is much more compact. I can also make this hat as not a skullcap. I'm experimenting with different hat sizes so I can figure out exactly how many stitches I need for what. I gained enough xp to level my ...

Dark Tower Yarnbending

UPDATE 1/23/23: Should I make some more Dark Tower stuff? It was always pretty popular. I got hit by the copyright police for the Eye of the Crimson King because I did rip the eye logo straight out of the graphic novels. I ain't mad. A comic artist isn't a billion dollar company (I'm looking at you Disney and Fox and CBS). In a somewhat surprising turn of events both of my Dark Tower hats have sold from my Etsy shop. I suppose there aren't a lot of other Dark Tower-inspired crafts floating around. I'll be making another Crimson King slouch beanie and I'd like to make another Unfound beanie, but in a deeper brown or tweed. I want to tweak both designs and make them smaller too. Along with that I was also thinking about Beam Guardian scarves. It's not scarf season, but they would all be ready for purchase by scarf season. I'm unsure about colors. I was thinking I want to keep them neutral and all in similar shades. At either end of the scarves would b...

Cyberking Progress

UPDATE 1/23/23: I'm here to provide updates on all of my ancient posts, 9 years later. I never finished this, if anyone is wondering. Part of me wants to make it with foam clay...  So here's this - a good ol' Miss Hartigan/Cyberking headpiece WIP. It's obviously not done. I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with it or even if it's going to fit my head properly. I'm also unsure about its durability. All-in-all I'm really unsure, but it's been fun so far. I'm leaning toward applying a thin layer of fiberglass after I have all of the pieces finished then I'll paint it and drop it off of the porch to see if it breaks. Or I might use it to make a cast and then make it in another material. No idea. This is some air-dry clay I had on hand and a foam head. I do love foam heads.

How To Make The Magician Teensy

Image
UPDATE 7/5/2024: Yeeeeowza, I finally updated this pattern and I forgot for an entire week to put the new link here. So, if you want an actual Magician Teensy pattern, you can find it here . I'm leaving this post as is because it's hilarious.  UPDATE 1/23/23: Holy shit, did I work this in slip stitches? It looks like it. This was just a quick little present I made for someone, but here I am in 2023! Coming in hot with exclamation points! I'm going to come back and pattern this after I play some Rayman. This isn't a pattern. I'm sorry. I didn't write this down because it was a lot of trial and error. Winged it, man. This is pictures of the Magician Teensy's development. I've been playing a ton of Rayman Legends lately, which is a great game. I'm normally into games where I get to shoot things to death with space guns and shit, but this is a quality side-scroller. No, I do not work for Ubisoft. ANYWAY. Step 1: Make a turd shape. This is the hea...

The Argyle Pillow

Image
UPDATE 1/22/23: Oh man! This was a good argyle pattern! I also remember that pictures of this pillow got flagged on tumblr for containing ADULT CONTENT! What a time to be alive! This pillow has long since sold, but I'm going through all of my old posts with fresh eyes and adding updates AKA unhinged 2023 commentary filled with exclamation points! Maybe I'll make some more pillows this year, who knows! Hit up my Etsy to see what I have available now, go to my Ravelry for knitting and crochet patterns, and go to my Ko-Fi for a membership to get cool stuff each month!  Facebook for the latest updates!   ~~~~ This was a long time coming. I ran out of polyfil, so it was half-stuffed for the last two weeks or whatever. I finally finished it because I got more fiber. Buy it here . It is a mere $25. I'm fairly pleased, despite the minor errors you can see if you look closely. It was an error in my pattern sketch. I pinpointed it and resolved the issue for later use of the ...
