THE CAT IS A HAT *NEW* Crochet Pattern Available NOW!

Image
Well, I figured out why my pattern sales (and shop visits in general) have been way down over the last several months. I'm talking 85% lower than last year, which is an absolutely insane number. Etsy is no longer my main source of income, which it has been for years. I was perplexed. I was downright baffled. I couldn't figure out if it was my prices or changes to Etsy's search or what. It was/is all of the above, but not for any obvious reasons. First of all, I personally do not buy patterns from Etsy unless they are NOT available from other places. I have no interest in lining the pockets of shareholders and I would rather more of my money go to the actual fucking artists. That being said, I did some searches for my patterns. They came up in the search results nicely. So I was sure it was my prices. My patterns are extremely detailed, even my older ones, and they are priced accordingly for the effort I put into them.  You can still find my patterns if you do a really...

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon FREE Kamelot sigaldry colorwork chart for c2c, tapestry crochet and other crafts

Image
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon = game of the year, bugs and all, and it's only June. I will not write a game review here and instead will just leave you with a FREE pattern (and it isn't even Friday!). This pattern should certainly work for c2c crochet or tapestry crochet. You can use it for duplicate stitch knitting or cross stitch or whatever. Perler beads. Seriously, whatever. Just link back here and credit me a little bit for my tedious clicking.  I realize it is not centered as I like my patterns to be. it should be 41 stitches across if you want it centered on the field. You can figure that out, right? Maybe? It is very easy math, and I hope you can sort that out.  Anywho... This is the Kamelot heraldry, sigaldry, or whatever you want to call it - the Kamelot symbol. You see it on tabards and banners. Kamelot sucks, but I did try to romance that grumpy woman in Cuanacht, and for some reason it's the first thing I decided to pattern. Probably because it was everywhe...

No Free Pattern - Only a Video That Goes With a Paid Pattern

Image
I spent this whole week making a murloc so that I could make a companion video for my baby murloc pattern. So I've got no free pattern this week. Womp womp. Get the $$$ pattern from Ravelry !  Or Ko-Fi ! Or if for some reason you want to support the evil corporate overlords at Etsy, you can pay EXTRA to line those shareholder pockets instead of mine...on Etsy ! Giggidy! The video can be viewed for free. The pattern is not free. The pattern is money. It is not a full video pattern because I want you to buy the pattern, obviously. Milk and cows and whatever. The video means little unless you have the pattern, but here it is anyway because I need to write words for the internet search robots so that people find this blog and then find the posts that are actually cool things. There are a lot of cool things here. I tediously did the captions for this video myself. Videos take so long. Even if they aren't very good like mine. It's part of my charm though. It's my aesthetic....

FREE Elder Scrolls Fighters Guild Sigaldry Sigils for c2c or tapestry crochet colorwork

Image
Next week, I might take a little break and jam out some things from Avowed, but this week I've got some Fighters Guild goodies from the Elder Scrolls. I did two versions of the symbol from ESO. I wanted to do the plain sword and then also one with the scrollwork from the banner. Is that called scrollwork? What is scrollwork? I could look it up, but I'm not going to. Also, don't answer. My questions are rhetorical and they are because I need to have more words in these blog posts for the search robots.  But I digress... As usual... No one reads this stuff and that is totally ok. Anywho. Here are the two Fighters Guild symbols. The second one I sort of more had in mind as being a finished blanket...or whatever sort of finished project. Pillow sham? Whatever. You don't need to add any extra rows or columns or anything and can work with the chart as it is for c2c or whatever.  Speaking of which, all of these grids will work for both c2c as well as tapestry crochet. They sho...

FREE Elder Scrolls Mages Guild c2c or crochet colorwork charts

Image
FREE Pattern Friday is here again! I went with the Mages Guild this week, which means Fighters Guild is next week. I also really like the Mages Guild rank symbols...sigils...whatever...from Oblivion, so they might be on the to-do list. The Elder Scrolls is providing me with a lot of things to chart and this is good. Also, surely, someone out there wants these? Link back here if you make something cool and share it. You're also welcome to download these grids and make changes to them as you see fit. They will work for colorwork crochet, c2c, and should also be fine if you want to use them for some duplicate stitch knitting. Hell, perler beads. Do it. Live your life. Oh, I threw in the College of Winterhold's symbol from Skyrim because it's technically on theme, and also I like it. Here's Morrowind's Mages Guild. Hella anticlimatic, this one. The best reference I could find was, like, a wood carving? An in-game wood carving. You know what I mean. And I need to put mor...

FREE Elder Scrolls Morag Tong Colorwork Chart for Crochet or Other Crafts

Image
I'm trying really hard to get consistent with FREE PATTERN FRIDAY again. The Elder Scrolls is giving me a lot to work with and I'm really jazzed about it! Hopefully I'm slowly pulling myself out of this massive creative funk that I've been in the last few months.  Anywho! This week I've got the Morag Tong seal for y'all. I'm kind of into Mephala. What a hottie, amirite? Next week I'm going to do the sigils for the NPC guilds in ESO. Except the Undaunted because I can't find a good reference image. The Fighters Guild has a lot of different iterations across the games and I might do a post just for different Fighters Guild logos. We'll see! I'm mostly playing ESO, so I'm likely to do a lot of ESO stuff in the coming weeks. I'm streaming Daggerfall on the weekends on my Twitch channel . Daggerfall is so much suffering. Stop by to see my death counter, which should be in the triple digits soon because I did minimal research before making ...

Blue Badger Pattern

Image
This pattern took way longer than I anticipated. I am the absolute worst judge of time. Worst. I thought I would wrap it up on Friday then have the weekend, but I ended up working on it all weekend and then also Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Here I am posting about it after midnight on Thursday! I spent a heckin long time working on the companion videos for YouTube. Making videos is so incredibly time-consuming. It slows down my work and then I have to edit, etc. etc. etc. Here's my YouTube channel where you can find said videos if you want to listen to me talk for hours. I added chapter markers to these videos so you can follow along with the different sections of the written pattern.  You can buy the pattern from Ravelry or Ko-Fi . Of course you can also buy it from Etsy if you want to pay more money for it and don't want me to get that extra money.  There are also two (2) ready-to-ship, finished, physical Blue Badger plushies on Etsy. There is a cuddly version ...

Portal Companion Cube Hat v2.0 (This would also make an awesome pillow!)

In lieu of this month's pattern roundup, I decided to unleash this FREE crochet pattern! I got a little spicy in last month's roundup (and not spicy in a good way), so I'm changing things up this month. Because I can. I do what I want. This is my blog. This is more fun anyway? If you want a PDF copy of this pattern, without ads, and without all of these extra words, you can snag it here . It's a pay-what-you-want as long as what you want is within reason. Patterns take days to make. Even remaking an old pattern. It's a lot. A lot goes into all of this. If you don't want to pay for it, you get ads and me being unhinged on my blog. That's the price. This is actually based on one of my very old patterns. And listen here: I was going to do it in mosaic crochet, but then I changed my mind...for reasons. I do plan on doing a mosaic crochet-specific pattern and tutorials for the two types of mosaic crochet as (hopefully sooner rather than later - maybe for next m...

Schmanley Cup FREE Crochet Pattern To Make A Very Obvious Knock-Off Non-Functional Stanley Cup

Image
This is mostly a joke pattern…or is it??? I whipped it up pretty quick because I thought it was funny, so if you want to expand upon or improve the pattern then by all means do so! Then share it with me because it will make me lol. You can tag my Facebook page or Instagram @michiarr ! I love seeing stuff people make with my dumb patterns! IMPORTANT: This cup will not keep your drinks hot nor cold. In fact, I strongly suggest that you do not put any liquids in this tumbler. The straw doesn’t work, and the lid doesn’t even come off. I mean, you could make the lid so it does come off if you want to, but still don’t put any liquids in this, please. Materials and Supplies ·          Worsted weight yarn in desired cup color, plus some gray, and some white      o    YARDAGE: less than 300 yards of each, way less than 300 of the gray and white ·          Stuffing material · ...
