December Pattern Roundup

It's that weird time of the month again. No, no, not THAT time of the month - I mean pattern roundup time, of course. Geez. If you were around last month for Part 1 of this, uh, series...then you know that I'm going through my bookmarks and deleting dead links and other weird stuff, and sharing all of the other patterns with you all. This is at least ten years of pattern accumulation. Some of the links are dead and there are other patterns that now require strange logins or the sites were covered with pop-ups. It's 2023, almost 2024, and pop-ups are so 2003. Ads should be annoyingly dispersed around the page itself in this day and age. I also don't believe in having to login to something for a free pattern. I'm cool with making accounts to buy things, but I ain't making one to access a free thing. You know?

All images here were pulled from the pages with the pattern unless it's something I made myself and I say so, but I've provided adequate credit, I should hope. More credit than an awful lot of people in this dystopian hellscape we live in. I'm not out here being like certain pages on Facebook, that I won't mention here because I don't want to get them more engagement than they already have, that just post other peoples' work without any sort of acknowledgment of the original creator at all.

Enough rambling, let's get to some patterns.

Schoharie Spring 12" Square

FREE Crochet Pattern from Cats & Crochet Don't Mix

I'm forever doomed to have grand aspirations toward making some really cool granny square blanket with unique and fun squares. Will I ever do it? I don't know. I'm getting old. This is a really cool square that I think would be fun with a variegated yarn. Maybe good for all those variegated yarns we all impulsively buy and then don't know what to do with. This is also a big square. The blog this is from hasn't been updated since 2008, but there are a couple other patterns worth perusing there too. A couple different squares, but this is my favorite out of all of them. I poked around for a bit.

BB-8 Plush

FREE Crochet Pattern from reena-jerkins on tumblr

I actually made one of these many, many, many years ago (2016). It took me forever to find this picture. I made a few changes to the pattern, not because of the pattern, but because of my inability to 100% follow any instructions in front of me. It is what it is. I recall the pattern being pretty easy and who didn't love BB-8, amirite? Bitches love droids. It's me. I'm bitches. I have no memory of what happened to the one I made. I definitely do not currently have it. Anyone know? lol I kind of want to make another one. I can do circles better now.

C2C Fox Square

FREE Crochet Pattern by The Crochet Crowd

This was the first c2c I made! There's also a raccoon and I think some other forest critters. This page includes a tutorial about how to do c2c if you're not familiar. I, in fact, learned this technique right there on the page. Super easy! Very fun! 10/10 recommend.

Bobble Beard

FREE Crochet by Ashlee Marie
I for sure made at least one of these and I for sure took pictures and then requested pictures be sent to me on the child. I can't find them. I managed to find my BB-8 and fox c2c, but I think my finding juice ran out. The pattern includes several sizes and there's a link to make the hat as well, which is very easy and cute. You can buy a PDF version of this pattern, which includes a basic beard and a double loop beard, which is pretty snazzy, plus the hat here. It's a sweet deal.

Cape Cod Hat

FREE Crochet Pattern by Drops Design

I don't know why I bookmarked this. Did I do it because someone else wanted a hat in this style? I'm not into it. It's not my jam. I have no memory of this. Someone else might be into it, so I'm sharing it here, but then I'm deleting it from my wealth of bookmarks.

There were no knitting patterns in this batch! So sorry! Maybe next month? It's just not how the cookie crumbled this time. At least they were all free, so that's rad! Good for holiday gift making, though this is pretty last minute, if I do say so myself.

I offer a pretty cool, very cheap, monthly (mostly crochet pattern) subscription on my Ko-Fi where you can also check out my pattern shop! If you want to take a look at my current physical inventory and check my commission status then hop on over to Etsy! Follow me on Facebook for the latest updates!
