Free Ouija Board Knitting/Crochet Colorwork Chart For Summoning Yarn Demons

UPDATE 2/12/23: I will tell you all a brief story about this. Ahem. I made this many years ago (2018) and I posted it on Facebook , which is my custom whenever I make a new thing. I may or may not have even shared it to my personal Facebook because sometimes I'm lazy. Somehow though, word that I'd made this, got back to my EvAnGeLiCaL grandmother. Needless to say, madness ensued. Who told her, I never found out. The WoollyRhinoCrafts' page is public, so, I mean, it could have been anyone. But the story does not end there!   My grandmother recently passed away and I have been tasked with going through her hoards. She wasn't a Hoarders-level hoarder, but she saved a lot of paper. She also did not organize anything so I've had to go through every single paper to make sure nothing is important (99.9% of it is literal garbage), but I came across a list. At the top of the list read "Michelle Facebook." And this list contained many, many things I had posted whi...

Make sure you're following me on Facebook (below) for updates! And meanwhile, I do have stuff in my Etsy shop ! This grid is free to use for whatever you like. Venture Bros - The Monarch Symbol - FREE Colorwork Chart

Image
UPDATE 2/7/23: Duplicate stitch! Yes!   This week I was asked to make a hat with The Monarch symbol it. "Ok," I said. And I did. It was excellent for breaking up the monotony of making bigfoot hat after bigfoot hat, that's for sure. And here's the chart! Feel free to use it for knitting, crochet, needlepoint, or whatever fibercraft floats your boat. If you do use it, please link back to this post to share it with the rest of the Internet! For more, give my Facebook page a like and also swing by my Etsy shop . For the hat, I actually duplicate stitched the pattern onto a plain black knit hat I made. I love any excuse to duplicate stitch and this was a perfect opportunity to do so. Duplicate stitch is my current favorite thing. There are tons of tutorials online. Here 's a good one. Happy crafting and holidays and holiday crafting! XOXOX

More Free Dragon Age Heraldry Colorwork Charts - Kirkwall, Legion of the Dead, Seekers of Truth

Image
UPDATE 2/18/23: Cleaned up the all-seeing-eye for the Seekers!  If you're looking for more Dragon Age heraldry, you can also get the Qunari, Templars, and Tevinter emblems here . UPDATE 2/11/23: Gonna touch up that Seekers of Truth symbol and make some smaller versions of these if I can! Keep an eye on my Facebook page for when I do this. I have a hefty to-do list! Check out last week's post for the Antivan Crows, Circle of Magi, Dalish and Inquisition heraldry colorwork charts! [ Here ] This week, I give to you Kirkwall, the Legion of the Dead and the Seekers of Truth. The Seeker chart is a little discombobulated with colors. Use your brain. The sigil is solid white, the background is two-toned with a split down the middle (or solid - it looks rad in solid black or black and gray with white...embrace your aesthetic)! I've made all of these using sc tapestry crochet, but they should be fine for other yarn and needlework. Right click > Open in new window > Save so...

FREE Pattern Friday: Versatile Mustache Colorwork Chart

Image
UPDATE 2/7/23: Ah! Here is where I learned duplicate stitch! My favorite! It opened up so many magical doors and windows and maybe a cellar! Having finished up the first round of Splatoon Bobble Hats , I decided to take a break to knock out some personal projects. I'd been meaning to try out the FREE Jackyll & Hyde Balaclava pattern from the Fall 2007 issue of  Knitty . My original intentions were to take the plain pattern and then make it into a Deadpool ski mask. I didn't have enough of the same red lying around, so I made it in hot pink because I had an awful lot of hot pink for no good reason. As a connoisseur of bad movies, I watched Spring Breakers several times. If you also unfortunately saw that movie, you will recall the prevalence of hot pink ski masks. I didn't want to make a Spring Breakers ' ski mask, so I needed to make mine much more classy. And how do you make something instantly look classy? Add a mustache. I duplicate stitched this must...

Saruman's Beverage Sleeve - FREE KNITTING PATTERN - Includes Colorwork Chart

Image
UPDATE 2/7/23: Oh, man, why didn't I make a solid black cozy and then duplicate stitch the hand?! This chart is definitely valid for duplicate stitch and you could totally put it on a knit beanie! After a slightly intoxicated Facebook discussion, a friend of mine suggested I make him a beer coozie with the Hand of Saruman on it. As usual, I said, "Ok. I can do that." Then I did it. This rad beverage sleeve was made with bottles and cans in mind, but it can be easily modified to be a coffee sleeve. It will fit your typical 12 oz cans and regular-shaped bottles. Feel free to also use it for soda or those weird cans of Dasani water that taste like garbage. Also feel free to use the chart for other projects (including crochet), but I appreciate credit in the form of a link back to this pattern or shoutout to my Facebook page or Etsy ! I made the sleeve flat and then seamed it so I could get a good look at the hand and make any necessary tweaks to the chart. You can ...

FREE Terrier Dog Colorwork Chart - Suitable For Knitting or Crochet

Image
UPDATE 2/6/23: This will totally work for c2c and duplicate stitch. The hat I made with it is not the best because the colorway was wild. lol     I made this chart for a sort of slouchy knit hat. I suppose this dog is some sort of terrier. I was shooting for a Scottish Terrier, but it looked way bad. The hat I made was a late birthday present because I am the worst friend in the world.  I wanted to try out some Caron Simply Soft Ombre and the end result on the dogs was pretty ridiculous. imo, but it looked cool for the rows of argyle above and below the dogs. Maybe use a solid color for your dogs. This chart will work for other knitting projects as well as crochet. I put some stitches between each dog on the hat I made, but the chart will work with no stitches between (but it'll look like the dogs are sniffing each others' butts). Do what you want with it! Check out some other free charts and patterns here ! And as always, give my Facebook page a like...

FREE Yurikuma Paw Print Motif Crochet and Knitting Chart

Image
UPDATE 2/6/23: As with (almost) all of my patterns, you can commission things from me that involve them. To see if my commissions are open, just pop over to my Etsy shop ! If you've seen the bizarrely wonderful anime Yurikuma Arashi  you surely remember the paw print motif that was all over the place. Well, unless you're someone that doesn't notice recurring patterns. It was on the Wall of Severance and also in the background during each Kuma Shock. This chart -should- be continuous on all four sides if my brain was working correctly when I made it. Line it up. Stack it. Repeat it however many times. I haven't tested it at all, so it might end up a total disaster and I may have just lied to you. If you work it in the round for a hat or something you need to be mindful of the jogging at the start of each round for sure because it'll be right down the middle of a paw. Enjoy! And if you make a thing with this chart, feel free to share it on my Facebook ! Also...

George Costanza's Snowflake Hat - FREE Seinfeld Knitting Pattern

Image
UPDATE 2/7/23: I've also made versions of this hat that are just solid black hat with duplicate stitch snowflakes. I've done a machine-knit hat as well so it has a functional folding brim and then duplicate stitch! I'd been waiting for a reason to make a hat with a double-thick brim even since I came across this tutorial video on Youtube. I thought to myself, "Self, that would be a great way to make a hat with an unribbed fold-up brim without double-knitting it." Then I was watching Seinfeld . Lo and behold, in the glorious fashion of a Festivus miracle, Season 2 Episode 12 graced my television. George wears a hat with an unribbed, fold-up brim - the perfect opportunity to try out this double-thick brim business. It is a beautiful and simple hat with snowflakes and a pom pom. For complete accuracy, I believe the hat needs to be made with DK weight yarn and should have 6 snowflakes on it. I chose to use worsted weight and have 5 slightly larger snowflakes...

Revolutionary Girl Utena Rose Seal FREE Colorwork Chart

Image
I confess that I haven't made anything using this chart, so it might need some tweaking and you may need to experiment with your stitches, gauge, etc. But it will work for knitting or crochet! I guess it would work for cross stitch too. This chart is free for you to do whatever you want with, but I always appreciate links back to this page, my Facebook  or Etsy store ! XOXOX You may also like to... Throwing money in my direction keeps the free stuff coming. :)

Hylian Royal Crest FREE Colorwork Chart

Image
UPDATE 2/16/23: I whipped up a c2c version of the Hylian crest for all y'all people! Since Tears of the Kingdom is coming out eventually. The original chart with the rectangular grid lines is more appropriate for your tapestry crochet and fair isle knitting, and it would be good for duplicate stitch. This new chart is squares so c2c! And cross stitch should also work fine.   Feel free to edit the charts as you see fit and use them for whatever you want, but don't forget to link back here and provide credit if you post online or sell your stuff! And if you'd like to shoot me a tip on Ko-Fi or check out my Ko-Fi in general, that would be cool. There are memberships! I'm very bad at promoting myself! But I need to make money if you want free stuff from me. Such is life...       I've only crocheted with this chart, but it should work for knitting. Make a scarf or something. Whateva! Happy yarncrafting, pals! Use this for whatever you want, but shoot me some cr...

Sun Symbol From Tangled FREE Colorwork Chart

Image
UPDATE 2/5/23: I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to remake this hat and just make a solid purple knit and then duplicate stitch the pattern on it. When I made this I was still pretty new at knitting and didn't know about duplicate stitch, which is one of my favorite things ever now. 100% recommend this pattern for duplicate stitch ORRRRR, my other favorite thing, c2c crochet!   I made this chart (and hat) as a custom request! Now I'm sharing the glorious chart. Fo' free! It was a very fun chart as far as charts go. Enjoy! Please link back here, to my Facebook , or to my Etsy shop  to give me a kindly shout out if you use this. XOXOX Oh. Heads up: This was difficult to make very stretchy with stranded knitting. I ended up just making a slightly larger, smushy sort of hat. And the chart should also be suitable for crochet too.

FREE Lantern Corps Colorwork Charts

Image
UPDATE 2/5/23: These would totally work for c2c crochet! Someone make a Lantern Corps blanket! I'd do it but y'all know I don't have time at the moment! Do it! A nice blanket of 3x3 squares! Come on!   These are the charts I used to make the Lantern Corps crochet beanies, but they'll also work for knitting projects! On the beanies I did the designs in sl, but sc should be ok for flat projects, I think. You may want to experiment with alternating rows of sc and sl to avoid the designs coming out oblong. WoollyRhino supports experiments! Also note that the colors used on the charts are not necessarily accurate. This is for my own personal visibility needs. I hate staring at the color yellow on screens and I can't use black on the charts or I can't see the grid. And remember, if you use these for anything then please link back here to this post, to the Etsy shop or to my Facebook page to give me a shoutout! These insignias, of course, belong to DC Comics, ...

Star Trek Starfleet Insignia Hat + Scarf Combo + FREE COLORWORK CHARTS

Image
UPDATE 2/4/23: Good charts. Legit. Will also work for duplicate stitch. Check out my current inventory and commission status on Etsy !   I finished up the Starfleet scarf, which was part of a special custom order (along with the matching Starfleet hat). Both are in navy blue and gray heather. The beanie is crochet while the scarf is double-knit. There are more images over on Facebook ! Go check them out and like the page while you're there to keep up with all of the random stuff I make.   I used the same chart for both items (the one that is 25 st wide), but I also made a second chart that I was planning to use for the scarf until I decided to double-knit with worsted. It would've been way wide, but it would be great for other projects. The second chart shows a bit more detail.  Fellow crafters, you are welcome to both charts below for whatever you want. If you make something cool, feel free to share it on my Facebook page and please give a shoutout back to this po...

Littlefinger Mockingbird Pin: The Scarf + FREE Colorwork Chart

Image
UPDATE 2/4/23: Double-knit scarves are not to be trifled with! I will trifle with them for the right price though, but anyway, this is a nice chart. Go look at my Etsy . I wouldn't object to using this chart for other things. I think it would make a damn fine thing to duplicate stitch on something. Littlefinger is one of my favorite characters lololol Here are a few pictures of the finished Littlefinger scarf! There's some more over on Facebook , so go check 'em out. OMG! Free Colorwork Chart! And for any other Westeros knitters and crocheters (maybe even embroidererererrs), you can use my colorwork chart for your own projects because I'm so darn nice! Feel free to make any needed tweaks to it as well. I actually added an additional row in the neck area to elongate the bird's neck a bit since double-knitting make him a little more stout on the scarf. Mockingbirds are sort of scrawny fellows. The chart is obviously 35 stitches across and my scarf is 25. I...

Ka Symbol FREE Colorwork Chart

Image
UPDATE 2/2/23: I believe I have another version of this that's a tad smaller. I knit this one on a hat. I remember the hat because I hated it. If I were to remake said hat today, you bet your ass I would use duplicate stitch for the symbol.   Anywho, I'll update this if I ever find the other version of the chart. I used it for a scarf but I don't know where I saved it and clearly didn't name it something that made sense. Oops.   If you like my free stuff, please check out my Etsy inventory and pay for some stuff. Maybe. If you want! No pressure. Follow me on Facebook for updates about free stuff!     I only ever used this chart once, but here it is for anyone that wants it! Click it for full size. The finished pattern is fairly large (like the whole side of a knit hat if you use worsted weight yarn and size 7 needles). It should be fine for tapestry crochet as well as knitting. Happy Free Pattern Friday!

Lorelai's Bigfoot Hat Colorwork Chart

Image
UPDATE 1/26/23: If you're looking for the whole hat pattern then you should be over here ! I usually have a few of these hats in stock in my shop ! You can also request them in custom colors. The gray and white ones tend to go fast! I have more patterns available on Ravelry and you should also check out my Ko-Fi page !   EDIT (11/6/14): I updated the chart with a few minor changes. Like every other girl in high school during the early 2000s, I watched Gilmore Girls . And like every other girl that was in high school during the early 2000s, I'm rewatching this ridiculous-amazingly-awful show on Netflix. Midway through the first season Lorelai wears this beautiful bigfoot hat and I couldn't help but make a chart. I don't have time to make the hat at this second, but you totally can. I don't think I got the chart 100% accurate because it's hard to see, but it's definitely a starting point. Feel free to tweak it. Make a hat, put sasquatches on a sweat...
